About the Role

Are you a compassionate and reliable Health Care Assistant (HCA) eager to be part of a high-performing team? We are looking for an enthusiastic HCA to join our remarkable Emergency Department located at Tauranga hospital. In this permanent part-time role working Monday - Sunday, 0.6 FTE (24 hours per week), you will be an essential part of the team, supporting patients and clinical staff in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Under the direction of a passionate and highly skilled nursing team, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care, assisting with personal care, patient comfort, mobility and clinical support tasks. The Emergency Department is the cornerstone of the community - providing urgent care to people of all ages, 24/7. The team is collaborative, experienced, and united by a shared commitment to patient wellbeing. Based in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, this role offers the opportunity to grow professionally while enjoying a region renowned for its golden beaches, forest trails, and vibrant local culture.

About you

The ideal candidate is reliable, compassionate, and calm under pressure. You will be someone who thrives in fast-moving environments and understands the importance of teamwork, clear communication, and maintaining patient dignity at all times.

What you will bring:

  • Certificate in Health Care Assistance Level 3 or 4 (or equivalent)
  • Experience in a healthcare setting or related service
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Moving and handling experience
  • Computer competent
  • Flexibility to work shift hours across Sunday to Monday
