About the Role
We have a permanent part time or full time opportunity for a Health Care Assistant to join our dedicated team in the Children’s Ward 4A - Tauranga hospital. Please indicate in your cover letter how many hours you wish to be considered for.
This role is your chance to be part of a service that provides compassionate, family-centred care in a warm, supportive environment. You will work with the guidance of experienced Registered Nurses to assist with the everyday needs of tamariki and their whānau - making a meaningful impact during some of the most important moments of their lives.
This Children’s Ward includes a 22-bed inpatient unit, a 4-bed Child Assessment Unit, and a 4-bed Day Stay Unit. Every shift brings variety, purpose, and the opportunity to support young patients and their families with dignity and care.

About you

What you will bring:
- Minimum Level 3 NZQA Certificate in Health and Wellbeing
- Previous experience in a healthcare or childcare setting is an advantage
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to culturally safe, family-centred care
- A willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a high-performing team
- Ability to work flexible shifts as rostered including afternoons and nights
