About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in Ophthalmology Outpatients, you will provide high quality nursing care to patients across a diverse range of ophthalmology services. Working closely with patients, whānau, and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will undertake clinical assessments, support treatment and care planning, provide health education, and contribute to positive patient outcomes.
This is a rewarding role that combines hands on clinical care with patient education and ongoing support. You will have the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in ophthalmology while working in a dynamic outpatient environment focused on delivering safe, efficient, and patient centred care.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Ophthalmology Outpatients Service provides specialist assessment, treatment, and follow up care for patients with a wide range of eye conditions. The team is committed to delivering high quality care while supporting patients to achieve the best possible outcomes for their vision and overall wellbeing.
Based in Hastings, you will join a supportive and collaborative team of nurses, ophthalmologists, allied health professionals, and administration staff who work together to provide exceptional care for the Hawke's Bay community.

About you
As a Registered Nurse, you will bring:
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient centred approach to care.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and evidence based practice.
- An understanding of, and commitment to, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving equitable health outcomes.
- Previous ophthalmology or outpatient experience, or a strong interest in developing specialist ophthalmology knowledge.
