About the Role

Shape how psychological care is delivered within renal and diabetes services in the Easter Bay of Plenty. This newly established role brings psychology into a growing multidisciplinary model, supporting patients to manage the psychological impact of long-term conditions while improving overall health outcomes.

About the Team/Service/Location

This role sits within Adult Renal and Diabetes Services, working as part of a Kāhui Mātauranga workforce model that values collaboration, shared learning, and strong community connection. Services are delivered across Tauranga and Whakatāne, with this position based in Whakatāne supporting the Eastern Bay of Plenty. You will join a multidisciplinary team focused on building a more integrated and responsive model of care for the community.

About You

You are a thoughtful and culturally aware Clinical Psychologist who brings strong communication skills and the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. A confident professional working within a multidisciplinary team and contribute a clear psychological perspective to support patient care. Your practice will reflect respect for cultural differences and a commitment to advocating for the wellbeing of the community you serve.

What you will bring:

• Registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the New Zealand Psychologists Board and a current Annual Practicing Certificate
• Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Psychology and relevant further training
• Strong facilitative and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of culturally responsive practice and community needs
• Full NZ driver’s licence
• Adherence to the clinical scope of practice as defined by the New Zealand Psychologists Board
