Health NZ Counties Manukau is a dynamic and progressive organisation at the forefront of innovative health care delivery within the New Zealand Public Health Sector. We continue to work with others to achieve equity in key health indicators for Maaori, Pacific and communities with health disparities and will continue to develop and implement plans, based on local needs to improve the health and wellbeing of Counties Manukau region. Our main sites are Middlemore Hospital, Kidz First Hospital and Manukau Health Park.

We are part of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, the overarching organisation for New Zealand’s national health service. HNZ leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.

About the role:

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for hardworking and enthusiastic Health Care Assistants to join our busy Orthopaedic Ward.

Ward 10 is a 30 bedded, acute and elective ward with state of the art facilities and a great team environment. We are also a nationally recognised Orthopaedic department managing some of the most challenging orthopaedic cases.

Our Health Care Assistants work closely with our RN's and pride themselves on providing the highest quality of care to all of our patients and whaanau.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient focused care, excellent communication skills and the ability to relate well with people from various backgrounds and cultures.

Essential to the role:

2+ years Health Care Assistant experience in New Zealand
Level 4 NZ Health Care Assistant certificate with 1+ years HCA experience in New Zealand
or NZ Level 3 Health Care Assistant certificate with 2+ years HCA experience or equivalent (to be assessed) in New Zealand
Good communication skills
