About the Role

The primary purpose of the Data Coordinator role is to provide data and systems support across Breast Screening Services. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity, quality, and timely reporting of data to support the delivery of equitable and effective screening programmes. The position requires an understanding of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and their application in a healthcare setting, as well as knowledge of screening services and strategies to engage with our diverse and growing migrant population.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry and auditing according to programme standards.
  • Generate and validate data reports to meet regional and national reporting requirements.
  • Actively contributes to the reduction of inequities in cancer outcomes by supporting planning and implementation strategies for eligible priority populations.
  • Support administrative functions to ensure timely access to screening services and improved equity.
  • Deliver comprehensive training sessions to internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with screening services teams and other health providers to identify and implement service changes that improve equity of access and outcomes for Māori and Pacific populations.
  • Support and grow service delivery models grounded in Te Ao Māori and Pacific frameworks.

About the Team/Service

Breast Screen Aotearoa (BSA) is a breast cancer screening programme providing mammograms every two years for eligible women aged 45-69 years. We have recently rolled out age extension to those eligible up to 74. There are eight providers covering New Zealand, of which Breast Screen Midland is one. Breast Screen Midland (BSM) covers the geographic boundaries of the Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Lakes District regions. BSM currently offers this service from eight fixed sites across the region and is supported by two mobiles that travel around the region providing accessibility for rural women. We are soon to be a fleet of four mobiles.

 

About you

To be a successful applicant you would ideally have the following attributes:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Business administration or relevant computing courses would be desirable
  • An interest in promoting women's health and well-being
  • Knowledge of Te Reo and be especially willing to embrace Tikanga Māori
  • A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification in Health or Management; or over 3 years’ experience in the workplace in a data/analyst role
  • Current full or restricted NZ driver’s license
