About the role:
In this role, you will primarily work at reception, welcoming patients and visitors with courtesy and professionalism. You will support clinical activities by recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, weight, and peak flow, and reporting any concerns to the nurse or doctor.
In addition, you will provide administrative and general support to the clinical team, performing front-desk duties and assisting with clinic operations as needed. As a valued member of the Gastroenterology team, you will help enhance the patient experience by working collaboratively under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or Health Professional.
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position, fixed-term until April 2027 and based at Middlemore Hospital.
About you:
We are looking for someone organised, friendly, and able to thrive in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have:
- Level 4 Health Support Workers Course or equivalent
- NCEA Level 3 or Level 4 HCA qualification
- Experience in taking clinical observations (BP, pulse, oxygen saturation, weight, peak flow)
- Previous experience as a Patient Care Assistant or Healthcare Assistant
- Reception or clerical experience
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
