About the Role
The Clinical Nurse Specialist in Pre-Assessment Clinic will utilise advanced health assessment skills to optimise elective surgical patients. The goal is to use diagnostic reasoning, knowledge of management options and involvement of the wider community of health professionals to create and implement safe patient centric plans. They will be responsible for the following:
- Provide a specialist nursing contribution to the care of patients, working collaboratively with Consultant Anaesthetists, Surgeons, members of the multi-disciplinary team and other services
- Apply critical clinical reasoning and professional judgement in the assessment, implementation and evaluation of the elective patient within the Ministry of Health surgical timeframes
- Ensure accurate documentation of all assessments undertaken; referrals and interventions made of the patients surgical plan

About you
- Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) and a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC
- Postgraduate diploma in specialty nursing practice
- Specialty knowledge and practice expertise
- PDRP Expert (demonstrating clinical examples)
