The Role:

We are seeking a senior nurse with experience, skill and vision to take on this dynamic role. The Nurse Consultant – Projects will have a passion for supporting nursing workforce with an interest and experience in leading our Care Partner work. We are looking for leadership and project development experience including coaching and debriefing around behaviours of concern and ensuring we have robust process for using Care partners across the organisation. Additional work will focus on nursing priorities across the Directorate of Nursing in conjunction with the Clinical Nurse Director team – divisional support for projects and regional workstreams for the Chief Nurse will also be part of this role as needed. This is an exciting and expanding time in our health environment and this role will showcase clinical expertise and relationship management and support strategic pieces of work across Nursing at Counties Manukau. 

This is a senior nursing role reporting to the Clinical Nurse Director – Practice, Policy and Standards. You will play a key role in many projects by providing expert clinical advice, leadership, and guidance.

We are seeking an organised and capable candidate with strong clinical and communication skills, requiring a passion for leadership and supporting project work across different divisions and the organisation. Strong clinical experience, critical thinking and advanced problem solving will be important, experience in Mental health will be an asset to this role.

Strong networks with nursing leaders across the district will be a significant advantage.

About You:

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Minimum 5+ years relevant clinical experience in NZ
  • Proven nursing leadership/management experience
  • Post Graduate Diploma with Masters qualification completed or in progress
  • Familiarity with project work and organisational structures and teams.
