About the Role

General Medicine at Te Toka Tumai, part of the Adult Medical Directorate, is in search of an experienced administrator to join our team as a Ward Clerk. A supportive and dynamic team with numerous opportunities for the ideal candidate to upskill and grow. This role requires someone who wants to work 16 hours per week.

This is a permanent role.

As a ward clerk you will:

  • Provide clerical support to one of the General Medicine wards
  • Being the first point of contact for visitors and internal clients to the service and providing a high-quality customer-focused approach through face to face and telephone contact.
  • Perform various administrative tasks associated with the smooth operation of the clerical aspects of the service; including data entry of Patient Information into the relevant IS systems and administration of clinical records and associated documentation

About you

As an ideal candidate for this role, you will:

  • Have at least 2 years of admin/reception experience (experience in the health sector is beneficial)
  • Be proficient in computer skills and MS Office
  • Have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
