Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
We are looking for Casual Administrators to join our Temporary Staffing Bureau team, providing cover for the day-to-day operation of clerical and administrative support services across Te Toka Tumai Auckland. You will be one of the first people to greet our whānau and hāpu wāhine/people so a welcoming, accommodating and non-judgemental attitude is essential. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience across a variety of hospital departments with opportunity for growth while contributing to the delivery of quality care and service.
Ngā Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
- Provide administrative and clerical support to areas across both Grafton and Greenlane site including, Patient Administration Services, Reception, Temporary Staffing Bureau, Emergency Department and other wards
- Display professionalism and deliver excellent customer service at all times
- Be comfortable to respond to phone and email enquiries and direct them appropriately
- Provide accurate information and directions to patients, whānau, and staff
- You will need to be able to work both on your own and as part of a team

You’ll bring
- A strong background in customer service
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Competence with Microsoft Office and computer systems
- Previous administration experience (healthcare preferred) or if not, recent school or university graduate
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver quality results
- Flexibility to work across various shifts (morning, day, evening and night shifts) in multiple areas of the hospital
- Available to pick up at least two shifts per week
- A friendly and considerate demeanour and the ability to interact with a diverse range of people
- The ability to work under pressure, maintain discretion and work well with a team
This is a casual position, offered on an as-and-when-required basis with no guaranteed hours.
If you currently work full-time (40 hours), you’ll need to reduce your hours before we can consider your application. Preferred candidates will be working 0.6 FTE (24 hours) or less, allowing you to commit to at least two shifts per week.
You will need to be able to commit to initial ward clerk training.
