About the Role
As a Staff Radiation Therapist, you will join a busy, modern, and well-equipped department where you’ll be delivering high-quality, personalised care alongside a diverse team of around 90 radiation therapists. This is a service where you can advance your career while making a real difference.
You will have the opportunity to be involved in world-class clinical techniques such as SABR for lung and spine, VMAT, Deep Inhalation Breath Hold for breast patients, EEBH and more. This department is also a specialist paediatric centre for the upper North Island region.

About the Team / Service / Location
Our Radiation Therapy Department, based at Auckland City Hospital, is one of the largest single-site departments in Australasia, treating over 3,000 new patients annually. The service is supported by 20 Radiation Oncologists, along with Medical Physics and Nursing teams who work collaboratively to deliver outstanding care.
You'll be working with a range of advanced technology including:
- 2 Varian TrueBeams with Hypersight and AlignRT, with an additional TrueBeam soon to go live
- 2 Elekta Versa HD Linacs with Catalyst
- 1 Varian ix series Linac with OBI, CBCT, VMAT/IMRT capability
- RayStation planning system
- ARIA and MOSAIQ patient management systems
- Siemens Somatom Edge Plus with Sentinel motion management system
- Siemens Somatom X.Cite with Sentinel and RGSC motion management systems
- Brachytherapy and Superficial treatment units

About You
We are seeking radiation therapists with clinical experience who thrive in a busy but engaging environment and are committed to delivering the highest standards of care.
You will bring:
- A recognised qualification in Radiation Therapy
- Eligibility for registration with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB) – click here for more info

About Te Pūriri o Te Ora -Kia ora from our team!
Te Pūriri o Te Ora is the name that has been gifted to our northern regional cancer and blood services by Kahurangi Rangimārie Naida Glavish of Ngāti Whātua, Chief Advisor Tikanga for Te Toka Tumai Auckland. Te Pūriri o Te Ora means "the Pūriri tree of wellbeing" and speaks to the many qualities and gifts of the Pūriri tree and our aspiration to provide a place of healing and wellbeing for our communities.
Te Pūriri o Te Ora is the biggest cancer and blood service within Aotearoa, providing care to approximately 40% of the country. We provide a wide range of services including Medical and Radiation Oncology, Haematology, Āwhinatia Te Tangata (specialist Māori Health team), Cancer Support Team (specialist psychological and social support), Research, Genetics Services, and the NZ Familial Gastrointestinal Cancer Service.
