About the Role

Working as a Geriatrics Advanced Trainee

Due to the demographic shifts leading to increasing numbers of older people along with increased prevalence of chronic illness, Geriatric medicine has become a major branch of medicine.   All medical practitioners are finding that an increasing proportion of their patients are older and look to Geriatricians for expert advice and opinion. Geriatric medicine is very satisfying and rewarding. It combines intellectual challenge, general medicine and teamwork. It brings together acute and chronic care as well as hospital and ambulatory medicine. Rehabilitation is a major focus.  In Advanced Training in Geriatric Medicine, you will explore in-depth specialty training in the diagnosis and management of complex and/or multifactorial disorders that impact the functional and cognitive status of the older person.
