About the Role
The Adult Sleep and Ventilatory Service at Te Toka Tumai provides a multi-level platform for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB) and other Sleep-related disorders.
Our team is comprised of physiologists, nurses, and doctors who work together to carry out a wide range of sleep investigations and to provide treatment, management, and ongoing support of SDB patients. Specialising in areas such as Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA), Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP), and Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV), our team collaborates with other healthcare providers across Auckland and New Zealand, working alongside primary care providers and other respiratory and sleep service experts for the purposes of health care provision and education/information.
We are looking for a Clinical Sleep Physiologist to join and complement our existing team.
As the successful candidate, you will be able to:
- Independently perform various sleep investigations (Level 1, 3, and 4 sleep tests, as well as Multiple Sleep Latency test), initiate and titrate PAP therapy, analyse sleep studies, and interpret PAP adherence data
- Provide PAP treatment education and ongoing support of patients on PAP therapy
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities in the service
- Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional and clinical development

About you
The successful applicant will have:
- BSc or similar in relevant field
- New Zealand Clinical Physiologist Board (CPRB) registration in Sleep and current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) without conditions is preferred but those working towards registration are also welcome to apply
- 2+ years’ experience as a Sleep Physiologist working in both laboratory and clinical outpatient settings
- Readiness to work shift work hours routinely
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both in a team and autonomously
- Ability to align with our values
