About the role

Are you passionate about helping healthcare teams learn, grow, and deliver the very best care for tamariki and whānau?

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Nurse Educator to join the Douglas Starship Simulation Programme. In this role, you'll help design, facilitate, and deliver high quality simulation-based education that strengthens clinical capability, builds confidence, enhances teamwork, and ultimately contributes to safer care for children across Aotearoa.

Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary simulation team, you'll create engaging learning experiences that encourage reflection, strengthen clinical practice, and support continuous improvement across Starship Child Health and our national outreach programme.

This is an opportunity to influence the way healthcare professionals learn, collaborate and care for tamariki and whānau, making a meaningful difference well beyond the walls of Starship.

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Douglas Starship Simulation Programme is a nationally recognised leader in simulation-based education, supporting healthcare professionals to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to provide safe, high-quality care for tamariki and whānau.

We are a passionate, collaborative, and innovative multidisciplinary team who believe the most meaningful learning happens through curiosity, reflection, and shared experience. You’ll also need to have

• Have registration with NZ Nursing Council and a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
• Have Postgraduate certificate/diploma
• Have experience teaching in a clinical setting
• Be PDRP Proficient or Expert
• Demonstrate an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi
• Have Paediatric acute and/or high acuity care setting experience
