About the Role
We are seeking a flexible and detail-oriented Relief Elective Booking Co-ordinator to work within the Booking team at Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora, Hawkes Bay. This role provides cover and support across both outpatient and surgical booking teams, ensuring accurate scheduling, referral management, and coordination of elective procedures. About the Team/Service/ Location
You’ll be based at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, working within the Administration Services team and reporting to the Booking Manager.
Our team’s co-ordinate the Outpatient and Surgical bookings so you will need to be an effective communicator, have excellent administrative, organisational and time management skills and definitely the ability to work under pressure. This is a supportive and collaborative environment where your contribution will help improve access to care and enhance the patient experience across outpatient and surgical services

We are ideally looking for someone with experience in a busy role, and it is essential that you have the following skills:
- Competent in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook & Power point) and related functions and generally be computer savvy with the ability to learn the other software packages used.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people - internally and externally.
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Multi-tasking & Organisational abilities
- A positive attitude with a problem-solving focus.
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally safe practice.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise your own workload, as well as work as part of the team.
- Desired: Experience using the ECA patient management system and knowledge of Elective Services systems and principles.
You will be required to deal sensitively and confidentially with all information and have a strong attention to detail.
