About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a minimum of two years hospital experience to join our dynamic surgical/orthopaedic teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. 

Do you have strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills, excellent communication and teamwork and committed to culturally safe and compassionate care.

You will work in a supportive environment where professional growth is encouraged.  You will be a part of a team that values collaboration, and respect.

This position is rostered and rotating shift patterns and staff will be required to work 8 hour shifts at the following times:

0645 - 1515

1445 - 2315

2245 - 0715

1030 - 1900

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team of 35 dedicated nurses is committed to delivering exceptional care to surgical and orthopaedic patients in a fast-paced environment that prioritises individualised care and fosters a strong sense of teamwork. We work collaboratively alongside skilled Health Care Assistance, allied health and medical teams to provide evidenced based care and rehabilitation from injury or surgery.

About you

As a Registered Nurse, the following skills are recommended

  • Prefer two years of acute nursing experience
  • A strong focus on patient assessment
  • Safe medication administration practices
  • Understanding of pre and post operative principles and procedures
  • Infection control practices
  • Confident communication verbal and written
  • Respectful, empathetic, compassionate, culturally safe communication with patients and whanau
  • Teamwork, time management
  • Beginning to assess situations and make sound clinical judgments
