Clinical Nurse Coordinator – ICU/CCU/HDU Taranaki Base Hospital Permanent Part time 0.8 FTE

About the Role
We are welcoming applicants from senior nursing staff with a minimum of 5 years’ experience and a proven track record working in critical care to join our friendly professional team in providing care in our combined ICU/CCU/HDU department.
A post graduate qualification in critical care is preferred or the commitment to complete one essential
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is a senior clinical and operational leadership role within the Intensive Care Unit. The CNC is responsible for the day‑to‑day coordination of patient flow, capacity management, and the delivery of safe, high‑quality care across the unit. This role ensures that clinical activity aligns with organisational priorities, patient acuity, and safe staffing levels, while supporting staff and the wider multidisciplinary team.
The CNC acts as a central point of coordination, providing oversight of clinical risk, resource allocation, and operational decision‑making through, out each shift. The role is pivotal in maintaining ICU throughput, supporting timely transfers, and enabling efficient hospital‑wide patient flow. The position requires a close working relationship with the CNM, medical staff and other members of the interprofessional team.

plications are invited for Registered Nurses to join our team in a 17 bed multi-specialty ICU CCU, HDU.
To be successful you require the following:
- A current APC
- Minimum of 5 years ICU CCU and HDU experience
- Post graduate certificate in critical care preferred or commitment to complete the same is required.
- Worked in an acute environment within the last year
- Proven clinical competence
- A minimum of two years New Zealand acute experience is preferrable
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Excellent team player with sound communication skills
- Sound negotiation and reasoning skills
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Ability to work in a changeable environment
- Self-motivated to share and learn
