About the Role
Step into a rewarding role as a Registered Nurse in our District Nursing services based at Whakatāne hospital, where your skills and compassion will directly impact the health and independence of clients in their homes and communities.
We are looking for a Registered Nurse with at least two years of Nursing and acute or community care experience, who thrives on flexibility and enjoys the challenges of providing holistic care to clients in the community.
We are offering a Casual position in District Nursing based at Whakatāne hospital, working ‘as and when required’ to cover days with high demand. The role requires availability to work shifts between 7:30am and 4:30pm, Monday – Sunday.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Our District Nursing Services are committed to providing compassionate, holistic care to clients in the community, ensuring they receive the support they need to maintain their independence and quality of life. Situated in the sunny east coast in the Bay of Plenty, this role offers a balance of professional growth and lifestyle, with the region’s beautiful beaches, lush bush walks, and a welcoming community providing the perfect backdrop.
About you
The ideal candidate is an experienced and flexible nurse who thrives on variety and enjoys working independently in the community.
What you will bring:
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate
- A minimum of two years’ nursing experience
- Recent experience in District / Community / Acute Nursing (preferred)
- Strong ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload
- Clean full New Zealand Driver’s Licence
