About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in Cardiology, you will provide safe, evidence ‑ based, patient ‑ centred care to individuals experiencing a wide range of cardiac conditions. You’ll undertake comprehensive assessments, develop and evaluate care plans, monitor patient status using appropriate tools and technology, and deliver health education to support self ‑ management and recovery.
You’ll work collaboratively with cardiologists, cardiac technicians, nurses, allied health and the wider medical team to ensure timely, coordinated and culturally responsive care. You will also support new staff and students, participate in quality improvement initiatives, contribute to Variance Response Management (VRM), and maintain accurate documentation including the use of TrendCare.

The Cardiology Service at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldier Memorial Hospital provides specialist care including acute cardiology, diagnostics, interventional pathways, patient monitoring and long ‑ term cardiac health support. You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative team committed to excellent patient outcomes and professional development.

About you
You’re a caring, skilled and motivated nurse with a passion for cardiac care and strong clinical judgement. You will have:
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate.
- Excellent time‑management and teamwork skills.
- Strong communication and documentation capability.
- Commitment to culturally safe practice and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Desired:
- A current PDRP portfolio or willingness to complete one.
- At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience (preferred).
