An exciting opportunity has arisen to assist Waikato in improving our achievement against the Faster Cancer Treatment (FCT) health targets.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse (RN) who has excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team. 

You will support the Regional Cancer Coordinator to identify and monitor patient pathways to ensure patients receive treatment in a timely manner; as well as assist the oncology clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) in preparing the multi-disciplinary meetings (MDMs).

The successful candidate will work closely with the oncology clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) across all tumour streams and the FCT trackers.

 

About the Team/Service

The FCT team is part of the Cancer and Chronic Conditions directorate. We work closely with other directorates to accurately report on the cancer targets.

 

About you

Required skills and experience

  • Have a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Have a minimum of 2 years NZ hospital experience
  • Have some knowledge and/or experience in cancer (desired)
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in upholding Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
