Play a key role, as SBIRT Project Manager, in delivering a nationally significant initiative to reduce methamphetamine and other drug-related harm in our community. This short-term, high-impact role offers the opportunity to lead implementation of a new model of care in a dynamic clinical environment, working alongside passionate health professionals and community partners.

About the Role
As the SBIRT Project Manager, you will lead the implementation of the Alcohol and Other Drug Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) programme within Rotorua Emergency Department. You will work closely with clinical leaders, frontline staff, and community partners to embed a locally tailored model of care into ED workflows and ensure the service is fully operational.
In this role, you will coordinate key work-streams including establishment of governance structures, development of referral pathways, alignment of data systems, and integration with Mental Health & Addictions services and NGO providers. You will also play a central role in supporting the recruitment and on-boarding of two Addictions Clinicians, ensuring they are well-positioned to succeed within the ED environment and SBIRT model of care. This is a fast-paced, collaborative role where your ability to engage stakeholders, problem-solve, and deliver outcomes will be critical.
About the Team/Service/ Location
You will work alongside MHAS (Mental Health & Addictions Service) and ED leadership; key NGO and other addictions providers to implement a collaborative, system-wide approach to AOD harm reduction and early intervention.

About you
As a Project Manager, you will bring strong planning, stakeholder engagement, and implementation skills, ideally within a health or social service setting.
- Experience delivering projects on time in complex environments, preferably within healthcare will be an asset
- Demonstrated ability to establish governance structures and coordinate multi-stakeholder initiatives
- Experience supporting recruitment processes and workforce implementation
- Strong communication and relationship management skills across clinical and community partners
- Ability to work independently at pace while managing competing priorities and delivering practical solutions
