We are looking for an experienced and passionate paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team in the National Child Rehabilitation Service (NCRS), based at the Wilson Centre. This is a fixed term role working full time (1.0 FTE) for 12 months from July 2026 to July 2027.
NCRS offers a comprehensive whānau-centred rehabilitation service for tamariki and rangatahi (ages 0-16). We are the national tertiary service which provides inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for tamariki and rangatahi with neurological, orthopaedic, spinal, complex pain and other medical conditions.
We work together with tamariki and their whānau to develop a flexible programme tailored to meet their needs. The Occupational Therapy role involves developing and delivering rehabilitation that focuses on whānau centred goals. An interdisciplinary team (IDT) approach forms part of the service’s framework, so effective communication skills with key stakeholders, the IDT and whānau as well as the ability to collaborate with the necessary professionals nationally is vital in ensuring a successful rehabilitation process.
Key skills and attributes:
- New Zealand registered Occupational Therapist
- 2+ years of clinical experience; paediatric and/or rehabilitation experience is beneficial
- Experience working within an interdisciplinary team
- Have excellent clinical assessment and treatment skills
- Have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Be organised and demonstrate strong time management
- Show flexibility and be able to work in a dynamic environment
