Mask fit-tester – Respiratory Protection Program (RPP)

Full time position. Monday – Friday (6 month Fixed Term Contract)
About the Role:
This role is focussed on protecting health workers within the Waitemata District from biological and environmental airborne threats by performing N95 respirator (mask) fit testing and mask wearing education.
Experience with mask fit testing or similar would be desirable, however, not essential. Training will be provided.
To be successful in this role It is important you have and can demonstrate a strong technical aptitude, good attention to detail, administrative skills and be focussed on quality outcomes.
You will be a natural communicator, can relate at all levels and across diverse cultures and can, on occasion, educate groups of workers on aspects of respiratory protection.
Other desired strengths include being pro-active, reliable, can work without direct supervision and can prioritise workloads.
Overall, we want your enthusiasm towards helping others and a willingness to learn.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Operation of PortaCount test equipment, Fit-tests and protocols to international respiratory protection standards.
- Accurate recording and tabulation of results in the database.
- Maintenance and management of resource test stocks and equipment supplies.
- Educating and communicating with users the correct protocols for wearing and using respiratory equipment.

About You
We are seeking someone ideally has the following:
- NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent)
- Trained as or has the ability to be trained as a certified mask fit tester.
- Can demonstrate desired skills and attributes
- Full NZ Drivers Licence
- Excellent communication skills and time management skills.
- Can work without supervision
- Has a positive, “can-do” attitude and values working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
