About the Role
The Junior Project Manager – Clinical Quality & Safety is responsible for independently delivering small to medium-sized projects. This role leads end-to-end project planning, stakeholder engagement, delivery, and reporting with minimal supervision. While projects are generally lower in complexity, the Junior Project Manager is fully accountable for ensuring delivery to scope, time, and budget.

Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of small to medium-sized projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and budget.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, risks, and documentation with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate and engage with stakeholders across clinical, operational, or corporate teams to support project delivery.
- Monitor project progress, prepare status reports, and escalate risks or issues as required.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and communication activities to keep teams informed and aligned.
- Apply project management tools and methodologies to support effective planning, tracking, and delivery.
- Apply quality improvement methods to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure equity, accessibility, and Te Tiriti obligations are embedded in project planning and implementation.
Leadership & Management:
- Champion Te Toka Tumai values and Aiming High-Angamua by mentoring others.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across clinical, operational, and corporate teams.
- Communicate effectively with patients, whānau, clinicians, and teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote quality and safety.

We are looking for someone who brings:
- Holds a degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Has proven experience managing projects in a professional environment.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the New Zealand health system.
- Can apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in a meaningful way.
- Demonstrates strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Can demonstrate the application of quality improvement tools and techniques,
- Is proactive, organised, and able to manage project scope, timeframes, and budgets independently.
- Is committed to equity, cultural safety, and Te Toka Tumai values.
