About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an Intern Psychologist. This is a one-year fixed-term position aligned with the duration of the internship, set to commence in 2027. The role is part-time, based at the Greenlane Clinical Centre, with 0.8FTE (32 hours per week). We are seeking a Health Psychology Intern to join our multidisciplinary team at the Auckland Regional Pain Service, which provides regional chronic pain care services. The intern psychologist provides effective psychological assessments and interventions for TARPS clients within a multi-disciplinary team setting. This includes the facilitation of group programmes, identifying and managing problems in relation to group dynamics, and promoting and supporting team-based solutions. The role is primarily clinical where most of the time is client-related but incorporates clinical education components relevant to the area of specialty.

About the Team/Service/ Location
The Auckland Regional Pain Service (TARPS) provides quality pain management to the people of Auckland and beyond. TARPS provides outpatient services including clinical assessment and management of chronic pain utilising an interdisciplinary approach. The TARPS team is made up of Pain Specialists, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Occupational Therapist, Psychiatrist, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, and Pain Fellow.
TARPS is based at Greenlane Clinical Centre, building 7, Ground Floor.
About you
- Previous placement experience in Physical Health or Medical settings is essential with either experience, or a strong interest in supporting patients with chronic pain
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed the final year of training in an accredited Postgraduate Diploma or Clinical Doctorate Programme
- Provisional registration and Current Intern Practising Certificate
- Current full car drivers’ licence
