About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our Cardiac Ward on a permanent part-time basis (0.7 FTE). In this role, you will provide essential support to our nursing and medical staff, helping to ensure our cardiac patients receive safe, high-quality care. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a specialised, high-acuity environment where no two days are the same. Your empathy, reliability, and commitment to patient care will make you a valued part of our close-knit and supportive team.

Our Cardiac Ward at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital is a dynamic and fast-paced environment providing acute and elective care for patients with a range of cardiac conditions. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering excellent care, where teamwork and continuous learning are highly valued.

About you
You will have a passion for helping others and the ability to work well under pressure in a busy clinical setting. Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant or similar role (preferred but not essential)
- A Level 3 NZQA qualification in Health and Wellbeing (or willingness to work toward this)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A caring, patient-centred approach to your work
- The ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays
