About the Role

We are seeking an Ear Nose & Throat (ENT) Registrar to join our Otolaryngology & Maxillofacial department here at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital. The 2027 training year commences on 1 February, and mid-year starts 2 August.

As a Registrar, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of inpatients under the guidance of the designated consultant. You will also be involved in the assessment and treatment of patients with acute surgical needs. While this role is not accredited for formal training, we are committed to providing training experiences that match or exceed those offered in accredited positions, helping to prepare candidates for future formal training opportunities.
 

About the Team/Service/ Location

The successful candidate will join a team of 2 Registrars and receive full support from 5 ENT Consultants. You will work closely with 1 ENT/Maxillofacial Registrar, 1 House Officer, and a dedicated team of 6 clinic specialty nurses.

Our close-knit team is well equipped and work collaboratively. We provide a mix of Otology, Rhinology and some Head and Neck surgery including a large amount of skin cancer surgery of the head and neck.

About you

  • You’re a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) PGY3 or above
  • While a previous run in ENT is desirable, it is not essential
  • You are registered or eligible for general registration, with the Medical Council of New Zealand
