Core Physiotherapist, Surgical Ward & Medical Assessment Unit

Remuneration based on the PSA Allied Health MECA guidelines (between step 3-10)

We have an opportunity for highly motivated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our team based at Middlemore Hospital. One role will be working in our acute surgical wards plus assisting across medical assessment unit part of ED, as part of the wider cardiorespiratory inpatient team.

Our surgical services span across our 4 general surgical wards, encompassing general surgical, vascular and trauma patients. Currently, we have a team of approximately 4 Physiotherapists, including advanced, senior and core clinicians, dedicated to working within these services. 

You will be working as part of the ward multi-disciplinary team to provide excellent delivery of care to our clinically and culturally diverse population within the inpatient setting. Due to the acute fast-paced nature of our wards, you’ll be expected to have excellent clinical reasoning skills plus the ability to make prompt and effective decisions/plans for your patients with recent experience within a similar acute environment is essential.

Essential:

• NZPT with current annual practicing certificate
• Minimum 3 year’s experience with recent experience working on acute wards
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Cultural awareness and understanding 
• Full, clean drivers licence
