Health NZ Counties Manukau is a dynamic and progressive organisation at the forefront of innovative health care delivery within the New Zealand Public Health Sector. We continue to work with others to achieve equity in key health indicators for Maaori, Pacific and communities with health disparities and will continue to develop and implement plans, based on local needs to improve the health and wellbeing of Counties Manukau region. Our main sites are Middlemore Hospital, Kidz First Hospital and Manukau Health Park. 

We are part of Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, the overarching organisation for New Zealand’s national health service. HNZ leads the day-to-day running of the health system, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.

Are you looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity that will allow you to develop and extend your skills within an established Acute Critical and Central Service (ACaCS)?

We are seeking applications from an experienced Senior Registered Nurse who is passionate about person-centred care and looking to make Dignity of Care their career direction. 

The successful applicant will also demonstrate strong clinical management expertise and the ability to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans, particularly for patients with complex or challenging behaviours. You will have proven leadership qualities, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will be confident, adaptable and computer literate, with a genuine interest in the role itself. 

If successful you will be working with a committed team within an organisation whose aim is to make a real difference to the community that we serve. 

 

Essential: 

  • Registered Nurse with Current Annual Practising Certificate 
  • Postgraduate Qualifications or currently studying towards this or the commitment to pursue relevant PG education 
  • 5 + years strong clinical nursing experience. 
  • The ability to provide expert nursing advice and support to patients, whānau, nursing teams, and the wider multidisciplinary team. 
  • provide strong clinical leadership, mentorship, education, and support to nursing staff. 
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives. 
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills are essential. 
  • Expert utilization of restrictive and non-restrictive interventions 
  • Promoting a safe working environment for the staffs and a safe environment for the patient, whanau and staffs. 

 

Preferred: 

  • Expert or senior nurse PDRP Portfolio
