About the Role
As Clinical Nurse Manager, Chemotherapy, you will lead and coordinate the day‑to‑day management of staff, clinical activity and resources for the Chemotherapy Service across Rotorua and Taupō. You will provide professional nursing leadership to ensure safe, timely, culturally responsive and high‑quality care for adults receiving chemotherapy and related treatments, and drive continuous improvement in clinical practice and patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical oversight and delegated responsibility for specialised oncology nursing practice.
- Lead clinical governance: peer review, incident management, audits and quality improvement.
- Coordinate rostering, workload allocation and resource management across two sites.
- Lead workforce development, competency assessment and credentialing for chemotherapy administration.
- Build strong relationships with Waikato oncologists, pharmacy and community providers to support integrated care.

Our Chemotherapy Service delivers inpatient and Day Stay chemotherapy across Rotorua and Taupō. You will work with a multidisciplinary team including nursing, medical, pharmacy and allied health colleagues to deliver patient centred care and expand service capacity where needed. About you
Essential
- Registered Nurse with current NCNZ Annual Practising Certificate.
- Relevant graduate and postgraduate qualification; Post-graduate study in nursing or management achieved or in progress.
- Minimum 10 years post registration with at least 5 years recent medical nursing experience.
- Demonstrated operational management or leadership experience in a clinical setting.
- Competent with Microsoft Office and clinical information systems.
- Experience implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice and commitment to equity focused care.
Desirable
- Postgraduate diploma or working towards a Master’s.
- Oncology/haematology specialty experience and evidence of ongoing professional development.
