About the Role

This is a specialty nursing role facilitating and coordinating the community-based Cardiac Education Programme, utilising skilled nursing assessment of cardiac clients, with the aim of maintaining optimal health and independence of client.

You will also be required to undertake skilled nursing assessments and provide education to cardiac patients/whanau with the aim of maintaining optimal health and independence of the client.

Build meaningful, ongoing relationships with cardiac patients as you guide them through education, recovery, and lifestyle change beyond the hospital environment.

About you

As a Specialty Nurse, you will need to bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a non-judgemental inclusive approach. Be proactive, flexible and confidently adapt to changing priorities in a supportive, patient-centred environment.

  • New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Post Graduate Diploma
  • Current full driver's licence
  • Recent experience in a Cardiology setting
  • A personal commitment to ongoing learning and development including post-graduate education
  • Commitment to biculturalism, with an understanding of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way
  • Work constructively as part of a team

Previous experience in training or teaching programmes for adults is desirable but not essential to apply.
