About the Role
This role offers eight pre-SET and four SET registrar positions. The department provides a comprehensive range of orthopaedic care, and you will have opportunities to rotate between Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals. The role includes a strong focus on teaching, and you will have the chance to supervise house officers and medical students.
Registrars in this position will have four three-month rotations, allowing for exposure to various aspects of orthopaedic care. With a dedicated team and a structured training programme, this is a great role for anyone looking to advance their career in orthopaedics.

About the Team/Service
The Orthopaedic department at Tauranga Hospital is home to 16 experienced surgeons, regular Fellows, a team of dedicated registrars, and house officers. The department offers a robust training environment and places a strong emphasis on learning through practical experience. You will work in a team-based setting, supporting both senior staff and junior members, all while contributing to patient care.
About you
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated registrars who have an interest in orthopaedics and are committed to ongoing professional development. You should have a strong clinical background and be comfortable working in a high-pressure environment. As an Orthopaedic Registrar, you will demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills and will be eager to participate in teaching and mentoring junior staff.
