About the Role
As a Staff Midwife, you will be part of a passionate and supportive maternity team, providing antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to women and their whānau. Working within a continuity-of-care model and in both the birthing suite and postnatal ward, your role will include supporting physiological birth, recognising deviations from normal, and working collaboratively with obstetric and neonatal teams when necessary.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support women through their pregnancy and birthing journey, while enjoying varied clinical experiences and professional development opportunities within a secondary care setting.

Our maternity team in Hawke’s Bay is a close-knit, multidisciplinary unit that values teamwork, evidence-based practice, and culturally safe care. We provide around-the-clock midwifery-led and consultant-supported services to a diverse community, where whanaungatanga and manaakitanga guide our approach to care.

As a Staff Midwife, you will bring:
- Current registration with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and a valid APC
- Sound clinical skills and a commitment to promoting normal birth and informed choice
