About the Role

Join a supportive Speech Language Therapy team delivering high-quality services across a range of clinical settings. This 1.0 FTE position offers flexibility and may be appointed as either a full-time role or split between two part-time clinicians. You will have the opportunity to work with adult and paediatric patients, providing assessment, intervention, and rehabilitation support across inpatient, outpatient, and community environments. You will contribute to patient-centred care while working alongside multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for patients and whānau.

About the Team/Service/Location

The Speech Language Therapy service at Hauora a Toi – Bay of Plenty provides care across hospital, outpatient, and community settings throughout the region. You will join a close-knit and collaborative team committed to delivering evidence-based, equitable care that supports communication, swallowing, and overall wellbeing. Based primarily in Tauranga, you will work alongside colleagues across the wider Bay of Plenty service to deliver high-quality care to our communities.

About You

You are a motivated Speech Language Therapist who enjoys working across a diverse caseload and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. You are confident working independently while also contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team environment. You bring strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to evidence-based practice that supports the best outcomes for patients and whānau.

What you will bring:

  • Registration with the New Zealand Speech Language Therapists' Association and a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Clinical experience working with adult and/or paediatric populations within the health sector
  • Experience in dysphagia assessment and management desirable
  • Knowledge and application of formal and informal assessment tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams to achieve patient and whānau-centred goals
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and culturally responsive care
  • Full New Zealand driver's licence
