Senior Allied Health Key Worker
Senior Allied Health Key Worker – (Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist), Supported Transition and Restorative Team (START)
· Waitematā District: Permanent fulltime or part-time
· Waitematā District is developing an exciting new inter-disciplinary Service to support patients restore functional abilities in the community
· This new role will work with a team of registered clinicians (nursing and allied health) supported by Assistants to deliver tailored, short-term restorative interventions to patients in their place of residence
About the role
Waitematā is moving into an exciting and new area for our patients with the introduction of START.
As one of a small group of professional Key Workers (nursing and allied health) you will be responsible for patient assessment, design of interventions and goal management.
You will provide leadership and clinical guidance to the assistant workforce who will deliver interventions under delegation.
About the team / service
The START team focuses on providing rehabilitation services for patients who can benefit from a short period of care in their own homes to help restore their functional abilities. From admission to discharge, patients are supported by the Inpatient Clinical Lead, working alongside our Registered Nurses to oversee the coordination of restorative care for both patients and their whānau. They will have oversight and delegation of tasks, whilst also supervising the activities of the Assistants.
To be considered for these roles, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a current Annual Practising Certificate with either the Physiotherapy Board New Zealand or Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand
- Have at least 5 years’ experience as a Registered clinician
- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team in the community
- Possess advanced clinical assessment skills
- Have experience in Rehabilitation and older people health
- Hold a full New Zealand Driver’s Licence
