About the Role

We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic Core 1 and Core 2 rotational physiotherapists to join our highly skilled and dedicated physiotherapy team at Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora – Waitematā.

This is a full-time role, and this programme gives you the opportunity to participate in a wide range of clinical settings to further develop your skills and competencies in physiotherapy assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning across North Shore, Waitakere Hospital and Wilson Centre sites.

About the Team/Service/ Location

We offer a two-tier rotational scheme within Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora – Waitematā at three sites across the district.

Core 1 rotational positions are 4 months long and offer experience in:

  • Acute medical
  • Respiratory
  • Acute surgical
  • Acute trauma and elective orthopaedic
  • Older Adult Assessment Treatment & Rehabilitation (AT&R)

Core 2 rotational positions are 8 months long and in addition to the above also offer experience in:

  • ED / ADU
  • ICU / HDU
  • Acute stroke unit
  • Outpatients – MSK, Respiratory, Neuro, Vestibular
  • Trauma Orthopaedics
  • Neurological rehabilitation
  • Early Supported Discharge and Rehabilitation Service (Community based rehabilitation)
  • Paediatric rehabilitation at the Wilson Centre (the national paediatric rehabilitation provider)

About you

As a Rotational Physiotherapist you should have:

  • Professional Registration and be eligible for an Annual Practicing Certificate with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand
  • Excellent clinical reasoning skills and use of evidence informed practice
  • A flexible and pro-active approach
  • Effective time management, organisation and prioritisation skills
