About the Role
We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join our perioperative team. You’ll work across a variety of surgical specialties including general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, ENT, gynaecology, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment where no two days are the same.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Operating Theatres at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital provide high-quality perioperative care across a wide range of surgical specialties. We’re a dedicated, skilled, and friendly team made up of Registered Nurses, Anaesthetic Technicians, Health Care Assistants, and administrative support staff.

About you
You’ll be a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You value teamwork, communicate effectively, and are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Your ability to remain calm under pressure and your strong clinical skills make you an asset to any shift.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
- Recent perioperative experience in a theatre setting – Scrub/Scout, Anaesthetics, and/or PACU
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across the multidisciplinary team
- A commitment to patient safety, infection control, and best practice care
- The ability to work collaboratively in a rostered environment, including weekends and on-call as required
- A positive, proactive attitude and a genuine passion for nursing
