Registered Nurse – Mental Health Flexible Crisis Team
- Permanent, Full-time role
- Rostered shifts: 0800 – 2300, seven days a week
- Based at Liaison Psychiatry, North Shore Hospital but will be deployed within the acute continuum of care in the emergency departments (North shore and Waitakere) and Community Acute mental health teams (Rodney, Northshore and Waitakere)

About the role
The Flexible Crisis Team (Flexi Team) supports crisis mental health care through resource deployment to clinical areas within the acute continuum of care; Mental Health ED/ Liaison Services and Community Acute Crisis Teams. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic, flexible and multi-disciplinary team working full time rostered shifts across 7 days a week.
This is a fast-paced work environment, providing rapid, skilled intervention to to tāngata whai I te ora experiencing an acute deterioration of mental state. Excellent communication skills and flexibility are a must, as are high levels of energy and enthusiasm. The successful candidate will be competent in comprehensive mental state and risk assessments, including suicide and violence risk evaluations to determine any imminent safety needs and appropriate levels of care. Knowledge of the role and function of a Duly Authorised Officer would be an advantage; however, training can be provided.

About You
- Registered Nurse with a current APC and scope to work in mental health
- At least 3 years Mental Health nursing experience preferably within an acute mental health setting.
- Current Nursing Portfolio at competent level
