About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will deliver safe, clinically sound, and patient‑centred care in a fast‑paced environment. You will apply advanced nursing judgement, work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to continuous service and practice development. Recent emergency nursing experience is preferred, as this role involves the assessment and management of acute and critical presentations.
You will join a well‑supported Emergency Department with strong clinical leadership, a collaborative culture, and a clear focus on ongoing professional development.

Whangarei Hospital’s Emergency Department provides 24/7 care to a diverse Northland population, managing a wide range of acute and complex presentations typical of a regional and rural catchment area.

About you
- New Zealand Registered Nurse with a Current Practising Certificate
- Recent experience in a busy hospital emergency department, including triage, initial assessment, and management of acute or deteriorating patients
- Strong communication skills and the ability to make sound clinical decisions under pressure
- A demonstrated commitment to culturally safe practice and equitable healthcare
