About the Role

Starship Child Health has an established programme which aims to improve outcomes for mokopuna and whānau, reduce inequities, and embed Te Tiriti o Waitangiinto service improvement.

Starship is looking for two programme managers – Tangata Tiriti and Tangata Whenua to co-lead the Pathways, Projects and Outcomes Programme. As Programme Managers, you will play a pivotal role in shaping a mokopuna-centric, whānau-focussed and whānau-led child health system. Your work will advance health equity and deliver meaningful change.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Co-lead the Starship Child Health Improvement Programme, driving access, experience, and equity-based outcomes.
  • Champion equity and cultural competency, embedding Te Tiriti o Waitangi in all projects.
  • Shape strategy and vision alongside senior leadership and TamaAriki Ora.
  • Support clinical excellence, contributing to outcomes measurement and continuous improvement.
  • Innovate and influence, exploring new approaches and technology solutions.
  • Lead and inspire teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • Manage stakeholders and partnerships, ensuring effective communication and risk management.
  • Collaborate with the Starship Foundation on impact reporting.

About You

You are a culturally competent, adaptable leader with proven experience in programme management and change initiatives. You bring:

  • Expertise in managing complex programmes using established frameworks.
  • Commitment to equity and actualising Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
  • Strong governance and strategic thinking skills.
  • Exceptional understanding of the health system, ideally complemented by clinical experience
  • Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
