About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Secondary Care Podiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team based at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldier’s Memorial Hospital.
In this role, you will focus on high-risk patients with active foot disease, providing expert assessment, intervention, advice, and developing individualised, agreed plans of care. You will play a key role in ensuring safe and clinically effective outcomes for our patients through evidence-based podiatric practice.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives, with a strong emphasis on reducing inequities and improving outcomes for Māori whānau, hapū and iwi across Hawke’s Bay.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Podiatry Service provides comprehensive assessment and management of foot health for patients with complex and high-risk conditions, working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues across secondary and community care. You’ll be supported by an experienced and collaborative team committed to excellence, innovation, and equitable care for all.

About you
You will be a registered podiatrist with a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to people with high-risk and active foot disease. Your strong clinical reasoning, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively will ensure effective, safe outcomes for patients.
You will also demonstrate a commitment to equity-focused practice, supporting Māori health aspirations and improving service accessibility and outcomes for Māori whānau, hapū, and iwi.
To be successful, you will have:
- A recognised qualification in Podiatry and current registration with the Podiatrists Board of New Zealand
 - Proven experience in secondary care or high-risk foot management
 - Excellent clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
 - A collaborative, culturally safe approach to care and teamwork
