About the Role
As a Physiotherapist - Allied Health Outpatients (MSK), you will join a well ‑ established outpatient service delivering high ‑ quality, evidence ‑ based care within the Orthopaedic First Specialist Assessment (FSA) Pathway.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapists and Orthopaedic Specialists, supporting patients through assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. You’ll manage a varied MSK caseload, develop advanced clinical reasoning, and contribute to delivering equitable, patient ‑ centred care for the Hawke’s Bay community.
You will be supported through clinical mentorship and supervision, with ongoing opportunities to build your skills and knowledge in a specialist area. The service is focused on continuous learning, and you will be part of a proactive team environment that encourages development, innovation and collaboration.
Unlike private practice, this role provides the opportunity to work within a public health setting focused on improving equitable outcomes for patients and whānau, while working alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team.

About the Team/Service/ Location
You will be part of the Allied Health Therapies team at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldier Memorial Hospital, working within the outpatient MSK physiotherapy service.
The team prides itself on working in partnership with the wider Allied Health team, Orthopaedic services, patients and their whānau to deliver high ‑ quality, coordinated care. You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative environment where learning and professional development are actively encouraged.

About you
You are an experienced Physiotherapist with a strong interest in musculoskeletal care and a desire to continue developing your clinical expertise. You will have:
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
- Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate
- Minimum of 4 years’ clinical experience in MSK outpatient physiotherapy
- Strong clinical assessment, reasoning and treatment skills
- Excellent communication and relationship ‑ building ability
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equitable health outcomes
You will be a motivated, professional clinician who demonstrates Te Whatu Ora values in practice and is keen to contribute to a high ‑ performing, patient ‑ centred service.
