About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for physiotherapists to join our Te Kuiti and Taumarunui based physiotherapy teams who cover inpatients, outpatients, and community.
The community aspect includes delivery of the early support discharge programme through the START service and the In Home Strength and Balance programme which is targeted at preventing falls in the elderly.
This position is ideal for a physiotherapist who is keen to advance their career with the support and enthusiasm of a close-knit team.
This position is suitable for a physiotherapist who is self-motivated and able to work independently at delivering services to patients. The role requires the successful applicant to be adaptable to change, resourceful and flexible to service needs and to have a genuine passion for working with patients and their whānau on their health journey.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide high quality physiotherapy services to referred clients and be responsible for treating patients/service users with respect, dignity, and compassion.
- Demonstrate a professional attitude and commitment to the team, practising within your scope of practice and ensuring effective communication occurs at all levels to achieve service objectives.
- Ensure the physiotherapy service delivery is enhanced and maintained.
- Provide agreed education and training for staff, physiotherapy students, clients and carers/ whānau.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation.

About the Service
The Physiotherapy service has approximately ninety staff including Physiotherapists, assistants and administrators that work across the large geographical area of Te Whatu Ora, Waikato. We have staff based at Waikato Hospital, our secondary hospital in Thames and our three rural hospitals in Tokoroa, Te Kuiti and Taumarunui, and across our many community bases in areas such as Morrinsville, Matamata, Cambridge, and Ngāruawāhia.

About you
- NZ physiotherapy registration, and a current annual practising certificate.
- Current valid full New Zealand driver’s licence.
- The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of the physiotherapy and wider multi-disciplinary team across a variety of environments.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with patients, their whānau, and other health care professionals.
