About the Role

Making a difference - it's what we do.

We are currently inviting applications for an Endoscopy Fellowship beginning August, 2026 for a one-year fixed term role at Counties Manukau Health (CM Health), South Auckland, New Zealand.

The Gastroenterology Department offers a comprehensive diagnostic and interventional endoscopy service which includes gastroscopy, colonoscopy, enterostomy, ERCP and EUS. Endoscopic mucosal resection, Endoscopic submucosal dissection and luminal stent placement. A 24-hour acute endoscopy service is provided. Oesophageal pH and Pill Cam is offered within the Department. The Gastroenterology Service runs in-patient and outpatient service and a Gastrointestinal bleeding unit has recently been established. The outpatient service includes specialised liver and hepatitis clinics in addition to a gastro-genetic clinic.

About the Team/Service/ Location

We currently have 16 Consultants, 2 Registrars, a Research Fellow and an Endoscopy Fellow. The Department actively participates in clinical research and has an established education programme. All subspecialties contribute to undergraduate and post-graduate teaching programmes, have weekly radiology conferences, participate in grand rounds and local or regional subspecialty journal clubs, and provide opportunities for expanding research.

About you

Applicants must have suitable training and experience in General Medicine and Gastroenterology and be eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
