Patient Care Assistant, Gastroenterology Department

About the role:
As a Patient Care Assistant (PCA), you will support the delivery of high-quality Gastroenterology services by working closely with Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals. Your role will contribute directly to a positive, efficient, and patient-centred experience. Responsibilities may rotate across sessions, days, or weeks depending on service needs.
This is a varied position where you will:
- Support the service with the delivery of the Faecal Immunochemical Testing (FIT) service for patients who qualify for the test and are managed through the FIT pathway
- Assist with administrative functions
- Provide general support across clinics and the wider administration team
This is a 12-month fixed-term, part-time role working 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 6:00pm, with flexibility to negotiate working hours within this time frame.
About you:
We are looking for someone who is organised, personable, and thrives in a team environment. Ideally, you will have:
- At least 1 year of experience in a service-based environment
- Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Healthcare experience (advantageous but not essential)
