About the Role
The role of Payroll Specialist will be to work autonomously and within the payroll team to ensure a timely, efficient and accurate high-quality payroll service to the employees of Health New Zealand Te Tai Tokerau utilising knowledge of all payroll functions, Health New Zealand policies and legislative requirements.
You will proactively troubleshoot, implement changes, action audit checks and suggest improvements and work to share your knowledge in a busy team environment ensuring all processes are fully documented and audited at all times.

About the Team/Service/Location
Based in Tohorā House our payroll team is responsible for the end-to-end Payroll process and processing of all remuneration entitlements and deductions due to staff in a timely and accurate manner. Our team is fast-paced and hardworking, while also valuing a positive, supportive team culture.

About you
- Strong customer services background with emphasis on issue resolution and building and managing professional relationships
- Practical experience in payroll or finance
- A working knowledge of pay related employment legislation and best practice
- Proven experience in working with complex organisational systems
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Applications i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook
