About the Role
As a PACS/RIS Manager, you will be responsible for the management, optimisation, and ongoing development of Radiology’s Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS). Acting as the technical expert for these critical systems, you will ensure their reliability, performance, security, and availability to support the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services across Te Tai Tokerau.
This is a diverse and rewarding role that combines technical expertise, project management, quality improvement, and relationship management. You will work closely with Radiologists, Medical Imaging Technologists, Sonographers, Clinical Leaders, Data & Digital teams, and external vendors to manage system upgrades, provide expert user support, oversee data integrity, and drive improvements in imaging workflows. As the subject matter expert for RIS and PACS, you will play a key role in enabling clinicians to access vital imaging information when and where it is needed most.

About you
As a PACS / RIS Manager, you will be a proactive and technically skilled professional who thrives on problem-solving, relationship management, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience working within a RIS/PACS environment, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Sound knowledge of imaging informatics, including DICOM and HL7 standards.
- Experience managing complex systems, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating system upgrades and enhancements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and with external vendors.
- Strong organisational, analytical, and project management skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and service excellence.
Desirable:
- Experience administering PACS, RIS, or other complex healthcare databases.
- Knowledge of network integration principles.
- Clinical experience within a radiology environment.
- A tertiary qualification in Computer Studies or a related discipline.
