About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Registered Nurse with exceptional leadership and advanced nursing skills for the role of Nurse Specialist – Neurosurgery (Neurovascular).

Your primary responsibility would be to :

  • Provide specialised nursing care and case management of patients with neurovascular conditions such as cerebral aneurysm, SAH, AVM.
  • Provide professional and clinical leadership, patient care coordination, education and clinical teaching to both patients and staff.

You will need to work independently as part of a supportive senior nursing and multidisciplinary team dedicated to evidence-based nursing practice.

The ideal applicant will have neurosurgery and/or neurology nursing experience and be practising at a Level 3-4 RN &/or senior nurse level, preferably with a postgraduate certificate or diploma in specialty nursing practice.

About You

It is essential that you meet the following criteria:

  • Have at least 3-5 years post-graduate experience, preferably in neurosurgery/neurology.
  • Interact effectively with a multi-disciplinary team and service members
  • Maintain safe cultural practice and develop your cultural knowledge
  • Have excellent supervisory, communication and problem-solving skills in order to relate to and work with staff and patients at all levels.
  • Have NZ nursing registration with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
