About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Medical Workforce Coordinator to join our Cancer Services, here at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton.

As a successful Medical Workforce Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring our medical workforce is well-supported.  You will be central to maintaining high-quality workforce operations that enable our Cancer Services teams to deliver safe, equitable and effective care to patients across the region. 

Day to day you will be involved in coordinating medical rosters, supporting recruitment and on boarding processes, managing leave and credentialing requirements, engaging locum and contract medical staff, and ensuring accurate workforce and payroll data across Cancer Services.

 

Key responsibilities of the role:

The Medical Workforce Coordinator role is essential in assisting with the smooth running of the Cancer Services.  The role includes:

  • Coordinate and maintain medical rosters
  • Support recruitment processes
  • Manage orientation and credentialing
  • Oversee leave management
  • Engage and coordinate locum and contract medical staff
  • Maintain high standards of data quality
  • Provide administrative support to the Operations Manager and wider Cancer Services Leadership as required
  • Collaborate with other Medical Workforce Coordinators
  • Contribute to a positive, values based organisational culture

  • Advanced technical skills
  • A proactive problem-solver
  • A collaborative team member
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

 

Previous experience in a health environment or knowledge of clinical terminology would be an advantage.
